Hygienic cable entries
With the hygienic cable entries from CONTA-CLIP, several electrical cables without plugs or pneumatic hoses can be quickly, easily and space-savingly inserted into control cabinets, enclosures or machines in hygiene-critical areas and sealed in accordance with protection class IP66 (certified to DIN EN 60529). The hygienic cable glands from CONTA-CLIP comply with FDA guidelines and offer a cost-effective alternative to expensive stainless steel cable glands.
Cable entries KES-GB-FDA
Strict hygiene regulations in the food industry require that all surfaces in the immediate process environment can be cleaned easily, thoroughly and without abrasion.
This naturally also applies to feedthroughs or screw connections that seal the passage of cables and hoses into the interior of machine housings or switchgear. These must not have any rough surfaces, gaps or cracks that could promote contamination. In addition, enclosure materials and sealing systems must be able to withstand frequent cleaning processes, even with aggressive chemicals.
The cable entry plates in the KES-GBFDA series fulfil the requirements for use in food production and allow up to 32 conductors to be reliably sealed in the tightest of spaces. The KES-GB-FDA system consists of two components. The inner core made of polyamide PA 6.6 GF is crucial for stability and strain relief and is overmoulded with TPE in the sealing areas to ensure tightness in accordance with protection class IP66
Cable entries KES-R FDA M
The new KES-R FDA M round cable glands with metric threads in sizes M32 to M63 have been specially developed for use in food processing and packaging machines. It was ensured that no dirt niches are created on the visible side of the cable entries. The surface is kept particularly flat and smooth. The tightness and stability of the KES-R FDA M cable glands are guaranteed by the FDA-compliant material mix (membrane) TPE and core (PA 6.6 glass fibre reinforced) and are available in the signal colour blue to ensure clear visual recognition.
They enable the insertion of multiple cables and hoses with a diameter of 1.5 mm to 22.2 mm and offer sealing in accordance with IP54 (latching) and IP66 (screwed).
A major advantage over conventional cable glands is the significantly higher packing density and greater flexibility in the cable diameter range.
Fixing to achieve protection class IP66 is quick and easy using a locknut.
