The beginnings

"A bold idea is maturing"

While our founder visits the large screw terminal manufacturers of which he is a sales representative for injection moulding machines, he observes an interesting phenomenon that sets his thoughts in motion: These companies are constantly growing. New halls are being built, additional machines are being purchased. This clearly indicates that there is a high demand for electrical connection technology. These impressions lead our founder to repeatedly ponder whether he himself could get into the fastener business. After all, he is not only a qualified toolmaker for mould making, but also trained as an industrial clerk. He also has extensive experience in application technology as a result of his previous professional career.

The initial spark for his decision came when his older superior, whom he held in high regard, was unexpectedly relieved of his duties. This key experience makes the young man wonder whether the same fate could befall him. Although he is only 36 years old, he feels uneasy when he thinks about his superior's situation. The desire for more security and independence arises. At this moment, he seems to recognise a gap in the market and can imagine manufacturing terminal blocks himself. As a well-connected sales representative, he has contacts who show an interest in his idea.

Now a name had to be found, which was not long in coming. During a round of "Skat", the brilliant idea was born: CONTA for contact and CLIP for snap-on.
CONTA-CLIP - so simple and yet ingenious.
