Plant modernization and CORONA pandemic 2019 - 2020:
At the beginning of March 2020, the new building at the company's headquarters in Hövelhof was inaugurated after a nine-month construction phase. The groundbreaking for the new administration building and the renovation and expansion of the production halls took place in June 2019. As part of the expansion project, the plant was expanded to include a new production hall and administration offices in accordance with KfW 55 standard with a usable area of over 2300 m², thus laying the foundations for the laid further growth. Product innovations as well as new machine and tool concepts have led to increasing space requirements at CONTA-CLIP in recent years. In addition, the implementation of a modern, route-optimized production required a rearrangement of the production systems.
Even though the CORONA pandemic brought many organizational and economic challenges for the company, Hövelhof has taken great care to further expand the existing product range. Among other things, the cable management product family with the round KDS-R cable entry has grown. New business areas were also discovered. Due to the increased hygiene requirements in everyday life, the HYDH product was developed, produced and launched on the market at the Hövelhof site within a few weeks. HYDH can help curb the transmission of viruses. HYDH is a hygienic door handle that can be used to open doors without hand contact with door handles. CONTA-CLIP is responsibly countering the nationwide corona-related decline in training contracts by increasing the number of training places at the Hövelhof site.
